"Bot" is the most devalued word in software. There are bots that are an FAQ menu with three buttons, and bots that capture the bookings you're losing at night right now. The difference comes down to three things: what it knows, where it sends people and when it steps aside.
At a dive centre, 30-40% of enquiries arrive out of hours: the diver plans their weekend on Tuesday night, the tourist checks what to do tomorrow from the hotel. If nobody replies within minutes, they book somewhere else. Hiring someone to cover nights and bank holidays isn't worth it; not replying isn't either. That is exactly the gap the bot fills.
A bot that promises to "do it all" — create the booking for the customer, take payment in the chat, fill in their record — creates two problems: errors that end up at your front desk (wrongly assigned spots, incomplete data on the manifest) and customers who can't use your system the second time round. The pattern that works is different: the bot answers and guides; the diver does their own sign-up and their own booking. Everything is traceable, the diver uploads their own documents and your database grows clean.
Nor should it handle calls from regulars who want a human voice: that channel is yours. The bot covers new traffic and out-of-hours traffic, which is where the money is lost.
DEKKO's bot comes integrated with the rest of the system — online bookings, diver record and centre app — within the flat fee of €199/month, with no cost per conversation and no commission per booking. It answers, resolves and guides; the diver self-registers and their record is ready for the manifest. The full detail is on the WhatsApp bot for dive centres page.
In the 30-min demo you test it live with your own customers' questions.
